It’s taken over 30 years but without my seeking it, my favourite pub has just changed to this uniquely gorgeous, well presented and quirky one - The Wichel Inn. There is a main bar area, a row of booths featuring old cinema seats. Soft comfortable easy chairs. Big & small dinning tables. Shelves of books. Old casks and artefacts. And that’s without mentioning the full menu of big and small meals, served by attentive staff. - Well done to you all, I shall return and return and return. You can just turn up or book, this is a wonderful, pub/cafe bar / restaurant.

Absolutely fantastic service from Mikey today, a lovely place for dinner with the family, they catered for all members of our party with some really lovely options for Vegans. Mikey has an impressive talent for remembering the entire tables order without writing it down, this blew many of our party members away! He went above and beyond to meet all of our needs and expectations, a true gentleman! The food was absolutely fantastic and piping hot! We will definitely be returning! Thank you so much for a lovely time *bonus picture of my scrumptious pudding*

Came in on Friday night and what a great little find! Staff great food was quick and hot. If you haven’t been I would 100% recommend H&W! Chloe served us in the dining room and Bobby was amazing on the bar and great wine knowledge!

Lovely place, service just right and friendly staff, despite being very busy. Glad we booked for 12 o' clock, because it got really busy by 12.30. Lovely place by the water, and because they had the doors open, there was a lovely breeze as it was quote warm..waa pleased that fans were dotted around too, great idea.

Food and service were good. Staff were friendly and polite. The restaurant mixes a nautical theme into its decor, to go with the narrow boats on the canal next to the restaurant which was something different and nice to look at. The bar area was also dog friendly from what I saw with some dogs sat under tables. Outside seating next to the canal was also available. If you’re a fan of desserts then I recommend the triple chocolate brownie which was slightly warmed and sprinkled with what was either a twirl or flake bar. Absolutely delicious.

My wife and I met friends here for lunch and were immediately impressed with how the place looks. Interesting bits and bobs everywhere. The narrow boat piercing the external wall was great and then we found you could sit inside it to eat, brilliant. The food was very good indeed. However, the best thing about the whole visit was the excellent staff. Our waitress Rachel was awesome. Absolutely lovely. Another waitress Amy was also outstanding. Every member of staff was friendly, helpful and approachable. We will most definitely be back.

Really quirky pub, serving great coffee and alcohol with a super choice of menu items from sharing plates, club sandwiches and burgers to vegetarian twists on classics such as the battered cauliflower 'wings' and the toasted plant based salt 'beef' sandwich. Lunch choices: Club sandwich was very generously filled, which meant it was a very messy eat but very good. The Mediterranean vegetable tart was tasty, served with a delicate salad of watercress & shallot salad. The triple cooked chips were golden, crunchy and fluffy inside. Overall, the decor is amazing, the food is very good and service is quick. Definitely worth another visit or two! April update Despite being lunchtime, it was very busy so I would advise booking to ensure you get a table. I booked in advance and was given the canal boat, which is such a quirky and interesting place to sit as well as feeling very intimate. Food was served quickly (order at the bar) despite being busy. The sandwiches were very good indeed, generously filled and served with crispy fluffy fries. I definitely recommend this place; it has such a wonderful welcoming feel!

This is a 10/10 place to go! There is loads to take in, it's full of interesting canal, engineering and local information! Its all done in such a way that it's not over powering but if you want to, you can have dinner in a canal barge! In short I love this place and you will too. We had the Chicken Ceaser salad, steak, halloumi and coliflower wings.
